Thinking Outside the Pod Everyone thought I was crazy, as with any good idea I have:), when I told them I had found this amazing vocal booth/spacecraft on one of my daily Craig's List journeys. But this repurposed orb of fiberglass and fabric was clearly the missing link to the completion of my new production and writing room in Little Italy. Anyone who has been by since has felt the mystery of the pod, but to this day I only have speculations of its origins. The label on the outside says Discovery I, La Jolla, CA. Whatever it is, the great performances I've heard from the vintage 414 mic have been anything but inside the box... thanks to my friends who helped with the landing! Recently finished local mastering projects include, Scarlet Symphony's (as of yet unreleased) new album "Foundation" as well as Deep Rooted's self-titled full length. Both albums are sure to receive a lot of attention from critics concerned with new music.

Hot off the burner is the "Girl Scouts Greatest Hits Vol. 10" by Hawaiian singer/songwriter Melinda Caroll. This project will be getting international distribution to a lot of young ladies around the world.

SEEN AND HEARD AT THE STUDIO:

Dreamtiger released their new E.P. "Glisten", recorded & mastered at Capricorn by way of distribution company Tone Vender. They recently returned from a southwest tour supporting the release.

Local favorites The Roman Spring are back in the studio to finish their highly anticipated debut EP.

New Capricorn artist Hello Sunshine (consisting of an all-star San Diego line up) are mixing their debut record.

Lured in by the sound of Fing, Scareo came all the way down from Moreno Valley to mix their new EP, The Return Of...

World renowned musician Greg Simon has just completed mixing the Ethnik Electrika record.

Local hip hop artist Brendan B has taken his game to the next level and started writing with a live band. Their sound is dark but fun. They are currently tracking out their songs for a debut L.P.

Trent Hancock of Ghost Bird is wrapping up the production of a debut record with Transfer's drummer Mike Cooper, Capricorn's Jeffrey Downer & Bryan Stratman, and Hello Sunshine's Joy Bishop all appearing on the record.

Crash Encore is back in the studio recording their 2nd album, Volume II. The album will be released in early 2009. The band plans to release a track for free every week!
